How to Make a Kite : Making a Kite: Holes for Stick Attachment

Now, we’re going to go ahead, and attach the
sticks that we made to the kite. The way we do that is that we make two small lines on
each corner of the kite. Now the lines don’t go all the way to the end of the edge of the
kite. They kind of sit just off of the edge of the kite, and we make two parallel lines,
and those lines; I’m going to show you that we’re going to cut them, and we’ll make a
small slit in that space where we’re going to run a string through that will attach to
the sticks that are going to be used as a support for the plastic. So once we have our
two lines made, we go ahead and fold it, and make a little snip, and the reason why we
fold it is because we don’t want the edge to be cut. We only want the hole to be along
those lines. We give a little snip, and that will create two holes where those lines are,
and then we’ll have a space to run the string through, as the sticks are laid on that corner
of the kite. So again, we fold it, we cut a little snip on each line that will leave
us with two holes, and this will be where we run the string through to attach the sticks
to the plastic kite. Now I’ve shown you how to mark the plastic, and make a cut, and make
holes that will be used to run a string through, and attach the sticks to the plastic.
