Traveling Denmark: Fanø Kite Festival – Amazing Sight | Rødgård Campground

Welcome to Fanø kite flyers meet-up. This kind of a meet-up festival
something they do it every single year and everyone from all over the world
they come here to fly their kites and it looks amazing. I cannot wait to explore it.
It looks beautiful. There are lot of kites and I suppose they challenge each other for
the biggest, the longest, the craziest so each year I think they get crazier. Yeah,
so let’s go and check them out on this incredible long white sandy beach The wind is kind of calming down so they
get lower and lower and it’s kind of fun to be able to touch some of them. This is
really magical and I believe it’s one of the only places in the world where you can experience something like this. It’s beautiful Have you seen the dinosaurs and the minions? We had a lot of water this morning but
we’re down on the beach checking out all the kites but they are trying to launch
a huge kite over here so. It looks a lot of fun when they’re trying to get them
up. It looks like it’s kind of hard like they have to find a certain technique to
get them up but then once they’re up they pretty much just take care for
themselves During the week you can also bring your
kids to a kite building workshop. So they get to experience how to build it and
how they’re made and set them up with mom and dad afterwards. Pretty cool I have really enjoyed this kite festival.
It’s a lot of creativity and people from all over the world with lots of crazy
kites, the atmosphere is super cozy people are setting up the kites and then
they’re just walking around chillin and looking at each other’s creations and it
seems like people are coming from all over the world. I really like that it’s
international, it’s creative, and it’s it’s super unique. I’m pretty sure you’ll
find it as amazing as we did. Hey guys While we are here in Fanø we have teamed up with Rødgaard camping and it’s very close to the beach where the kites are
flying. So far we really like it but Max and I are gonna go and find the
playground because we’ve heard and we can see in the map they have quite an
extensive play area so we’re gonna go find it As far as the playground goes, the
playground has been approved by Max. He loves it, he does not want to go back to
the camper. Ah that’s a challenge when having a kid right! It’s always that
balance: you want him to be entertained but sometimes if the entertainment is
almost too good you can’t ever get them away from there. He’s constantly saying
hoppe hoppe which is jumping jumping in Danish so he just wants to jump on
the trampoline all the time – and luckily there is a trampoline here. The last
campground we stayed at they didn’t have a trampoline they just had one of those
inflatable things and it’s very easy for him when he’s so little to be pushed off
because it’s round and trampolines are so much better. And this one has even
been dug down so super child-friendly here. There are so many things to do and
I would say this playground is fun even up to like at least seven, eight, ten
years This campsite has an indoor playground
which we are exploring. I’m an adult so I can’t be in here so I have to get out
but Max is enjoining it. This campground and the amenities is right in the middle and that’s where I like them. It’s not a fancy resort but it’s not really budget
either. They have a lot of amenities: they have a lot of playgrounds, they have
mini-golf, they have laundromat, and a place where you can wash and wash your
dishes, and they even have an indoor play area which is great if it’s raining.
This is where we watch the soccer game last night. So you have that indoor
area They also have a restaurant at the campground. It’s called Axel’s kitchen and we had pizza from there last night. It’s Italian
and it’s good. One thing that I really like about this campground is that you
can tell that it’s been here for a long time because the bushes are really high
and they’re thick so they give a lot of shelter from the wind because we are on
an island on the west coast of Denmark and there is a lot of wind. So there’s no
getting around that but these guys they really help At the campground they also have little
cabins that you can rent out and Jane and Lars are actually staying in one of
them. They have three different sizes: the
small ones, these ones I think they’re probably the oldest ones, and then two
different sizes medium and large where you can easily have a whole familie Here’s our little corner of the world This is the most relaxing swing I’ve
ever been on. It’s like the hammock but without the
risk of turning around
